It is my pleasure to invite your gallery to art:gwangju:14, the fifth session of Gwangju International Art Fair. All members of art:gwangju:14 make efforts to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding in a broader context of contemporary art and to contribute to the sustained growth of transparent art market. Particularly, we are trying to make this year’s session a precious and valuable experience for your gallery by providing various programs to increase participants’ convenience and opportunities to meet more collectors.
Today’s Gwangju is not only the city of Gwangju Biennale but also a future-oriented key site of art, establishing itself as a creative city of media art that meets the demands of Gwangju’s place name: Light County. art:gwangju:14 keeps up with all these trends by focusing on this year’s thematic concept, ‘Historic Event and Future-oriented Memory.’ We are constantly striving to concentrate our endeavors on forming healthy contemporary art market and converting art:gwangju:14 to the locus of the upbeat sense of challenge and the experimenting spirit of art.
To achieve these purposes, we are offering collector-friendly tour programs for domestic and international collectors, organizing special exhibitions and academic forum to satisfy discriminating collectors and art-enthusiasts, and producing guest-friendly programs which will connect them to the cultural networks in Gwangju. In addition, we work hard to make art:gwangju:14 an exemplary international art fair that can immediately accommodate participants’ needs through daily on-site meetings between participants and our staff.
